"As the spirit grows,
late in the evening, the drums get louder and the dancers increase their
energy. As they feel this energy, the gestures of the particular dance
become more pronounced, more perfect, containing much art--a celebration
of human form, every bit as much as a Degas ballarina.
When this energy is present, the observer is dazzled with flashes of
pure color and the dancers' spirit is transformed into movement and
gesture. This is when my mind begins to paint....... "
